On Monday evening, January 29, 2018, the Architecture Award Nijmegen 2017 was awarded in LUX in Nijmegen. The winner was the renovated building of Tandheelkunde Radboud UMC, designed by INBO.
The jury awarded an honorable mention to the Kloostertuin Brakkenstein, a design by diederendirrix, EVA architecten and Kees Tolk Design. Together with the client, Pieter de Ruijter (diederendirrix) and Maarten Terberg (EVA architecten) received the honorable mention. The assignment was by De Nederlandse Provincie Der Paters Jesuits. The professional jury: “The project exudes calm, is spiritual and poetic. The project is excellent at all levels. Everything is right here, everything seems to have gone well from client to implementation. The connection with the surrounding neighborhood is also enhanced by the attractive, inviting design. The Fathers Jesuits showed courage: a wonderful public space was added to the city of Nijmegen. ”
Wiegerinck architects received the sustainability award for the Van der Valk Hotel Nijmegen Lent and the public favorite is De Lentloperbrug, designed by Ney & Poulissens Architects & Engineers.
