Both the community center, the shooting club De Treffers, and the football club EMM in Randwijk had plans for new buildings and decided to join forces to create a shared, multifunctional facility. They subsequently organized an architectural competition, which we won. In the Randwijk area, several brick factories have elongated drying sheds with gently sloped gable roofs. This typology served as the starting point for the design and is referenced in the building’s form and materiality.

The east side of the new multifunctional building is open and transparent, offering views of the football club’s main field, while the west side is more closed and restrained. The basement houses the shooting range, and the upper floor contains three multifunctional spaces of varying sizes, which can be used independently or together depending on the demand and simultaneous presence of users.
