Lemelerberg

In Alphen aan den Rijn, we have designed a compact residential building on the site of an existing parking lot. The building forms a new height accent in the neighborhood at the intersection of Horstenweg and Eisenhowerlaan. The design is based on a square volume aligned with the adjacent office buildings. From this volume, the block is articulated so that different perspectives emerge from various angles, anchoring the building within its context.

The residential building is constructed in light brickwork with a subtle plinth, which accommodates bicycles, storage, and parking. The upper floors house a mix of apartments ranging from 45 to 100 m². Existing paved areas are replaced with as much greenery as possible. Parking is provided partly beneath the building and partly on semi-paved areas within the site. Green hedges around the parking areas and the overall plan create a natural barrier. Adjacent to the building, a shared outdoor space is also provided.
