the Living Lodge is a build-yourself, circular, autarkic tiny house made of almost exclusively biobased materials. It aims to increase biodiversity instead of leaving a human footprint. We worked together with Wageningen University to develop a location-specific “natural PVE” (schedule of requirements). This is an overview of the local flora and fauna and the specific requirements and circumstances for growing and living. This is translated into integrated applications in the walls, the roof and the foundation. This is then monitored to see whether the measures actually help and if necessary adjusted. In addition to the direct nature inclusion it is also the approach to stimulate awareness by letting people who rent the lodge experience nature in and around the lodge and also involve them in maintaining the nature component. The Lodge can be ordered as a kit and assembled on site.
