SBHC Xenios is developing a completely new complex in Amsterdam with five new fields and a clubhouse. The changing rooms are located in the partially sunken soutterain, creating an elevated terrace with a tribune staircase. The clubhouse space itself is therefore also elevated and to maximize the view of the main field even more, an elongated form with an open facade has been chosen. Because both visitors and members can approach the clubhouse from two sides, the volume is kinked at the end to ensure the entrance is clearly visible to everyone. This also ensures an embrace of the terrace, which is reinforced by extending the roof over a part of the terrace. By laying the ridge asymmetrically, a sculptural shape is created and the roof and facade go up as a whole. This is strenghened by the use of materials that are proposed in the same shade for both roof and facade.
