1st prize! Yesterday we received the Gulden Feniks 2018 for the Kloostertuin in the category area transformation. Very proud of this recognition for the entire design- and construction team and the client. The design team of diederendirrix (residential buildings), EVA architects (the printing office) and Kees Tolk (landscape), was responsible for the transformation of the monastery complex in Nijmegen. The jury of NRP Gulden Feniks award for transformation and renovation nominated 7 projects out of 65 submissions this year. All nominated projects show the unique possibilities and great diversity of destinations that existing real estate has to offer. On Wednesday 27 June, the winners will be announced at the Caballero Factory in The Hague and the prizes will be celebrated. De Kloostertuin (Nijmegen) has been nominated in the category Regional Transformation together with Aalmarkt (Leiden). De Kloostertuin in Nijmegen has been selected (out of seventy entries) as one of the five nominees for the Gouden Piramide, a Dutch prize for the best client of the past two years. In Randwijk we are designing a multifunctional building for the municipality and the local FC. The design refers to the drying barns of the typical local brick factories. You can find more images on the project page.

Ohlala .. for Heijmans we won the architect selection for 19 homes in Parijsch. Not that French town, but the new neighborhood Parijsch in Culemborg. We have maximized the view of the adjacent park by making the house one and a half times as wide as usual. This means that the floor plan can also be fully flexibly arranged. On Monday evening, January 29, 2018, the Architecture Award Nijmegen 2017 was awarded in LUX in Nijmegen. The winner was the renovated building of Tandheelkunde Radboud UMC, designed by INBO. The jury awarded an honorable mention to the Kloostertuin Brakkenstein, a design by diederendirrix, EVA architecten and Kees Tolk Design. Together with the client, Pieter de Ruijter (diederendirrix) and Maarten Terberg (EVA architecten) received the honorable mention. The assignment was by De Nederlandse Provincie Der Paters Jesuits.
